Product Review - MyProtein Whey Isolate

Hey Guys,

Today I am reviewing Myproteins Whey Isolate

As regular readers of the product section will know I recently reviewed the standard Impact Whey from Myprotein and loved it. It was a great tasting whey that did the job for a great price.

However Myprotein also do a faster acting whey isolate for when you need a shake to be absorbed much faster (i.e. post training or when using protein pulses). I personally like faster acting whey as I think that it has more uses than standard whey.

Here is what Myprotein had to say about it,

What is Impact Whey Isolate?

Impact Whey Isolate is the purest whey protein available, containing over 90% protein with a low fat (0.25g) and carbohydrate (0.17g) content per serving, which is lower than most other whey protein powders. It has a comprehensive amino acid profile providing all the essential amino acids (EAA's) and has over 2g of Leucine per serving.

Impact Whey Protein Benefits

Impact Whey Isolate is ideal for anyone looking to increase daily protein intake or looking for a protein intake before or after a training session. Due to the high protein content (22g per serving) it will contribute to a growth and maintenance of muscle mass. Impact Whey Isolate is available in a range of delicious flavours including a variety of natural flavours.

Who is Impact Whey Isolate Suitable for?

Impact Whey Isolate is ideal for anyone looking to increase daily protein intake. Whey protein isolate is ideal for individuals with goals of muscle gain, weight loss and muscle recovery.
Here is the nutritional information,
Per 25g:
Energy: 92.5cal

Please note this nutritional information is taken from the unflavoured version. When choosing a flavoured version it will reduce the protein content by approximately 3% for most flavours, however chocolate, due to the added cocoa, will reduce it by approximately 8%.
And the ingredients,

Ok so what are we looking at?
The main difference between this and standard whey is that it is a purer form of protein with a better Amino Acid profile. What this means for real world application is that it can be converted into more building blocks for your muscles allowing better recovery and repair (less soreness, bigger muscles, more strength).
I found this product easy to use and really tasty. It mixed quickly and easily without the need for a blender or shaker ball. This means that it's great for travelling and using for snacks. I found that the product sat well in the stomach without any upsets or bloating, even when used during a workout as well as before and after.
There product is low calorie, high protein and very low carb making it very versatile as it can be easily to other foods like oats or for recipes.
It's even pretty cheap to at just under £20 per KG and can be purchased HERE

Stay healthy,
Mike
